Amid the 21 days lockdown in the entire nation due to coronavirus outbreak, a gang of people brutally attacked police officials and chopped off the hand of one of the police in Punjab district.
In an unfortunate incident today morning, a group of Nihangs injured a few Police officers and a Mandi Board official at Sabzi Mandi, Patiala. ASI Harjeet Singh whose hand got cut-off has reached PGI Chandigarh.
As per Police, the group consist of 4-5 ‘Nihangs’ were riding in a vehicle and they were urged to stop at a market near 6:15 am by the Mandi Officials.
Senior Superintendent, Mandeep Singh Sidhu Said,
“They were asked to show (curfew) passes. But they crashed the vehicle against the the gate and barricades put up there.”
The group then attacked the police personnel on duty, he futher added.
The ASI was quickly rushed to the nearest hospital where from he was transferred to PGIMER in Chandigarh.

After the attack, The people ran away from the spot.
