“I come from India where we worship women during the day and gang-rape them during the night.” Hard-reality but when expressed on the global platform and that to be by famous influencer and comedian Vir Das, it hits even harder. Das, who performed a day ago at John F Kennedy Center, is being called an artist who disrespected the country for fame.
His “Two Indias” monologue was not at all a comedy but it did make the audience laugh but deep down it hurt the sentiments of many Indians. He is now facing legal actions for his words and fans are criticizing him in his own style.

Fans Unhappy With Vir Das’s Version of India, Call Him Tharki Creep
If life gives you a chance to represent your country be VIvekanand, not @thevirdas
Why are we idolized such bollywood actors? #VirDasInsultsIndia#TwoIndias pic.twitter.com/aOo8SEpX5y

Vir Das goes to the USA and says this to a packed Kennedy Center.
These are the “influencers” of our country who continue to perpetuate the “snake charmer” idea of India to the world! pic.twitter.com/OaFNsZynRC— Maya (@Sharanyashettyy) November 16, 2021
I doubt if @thevirdas has EVER worshipped a woman, his confession of what he does at night of course is totally believable, considering he appears to be such a tharki creep! pic.twitter.com/T794j7ujos

Generalising the evils of a few individuals and vilifying the nation as a whole in front of the world is just not done!
The people who painted India in front of the west as a nation of saperas and luteras during the colonial rule have not ceased to exist.#VirDas

If you get a chance to speak to a foreign audience in a foreign land about India and Indians, be a #Vivekananda not a #VirDas !

#VirDas & his ilk are dangerous viruses and have to be vaccinated for good.
No more apologies, he must be jailed for his repeated vile attacks on the nation and Hindus. pic.twitter.com/v3JuKYTvzj

Vir Das is just a specimen of an entire tribe that sells negativity about India to a ready-made market of racist foreigners. Together they want India to remain poor, unsafe and weak.

Few agree with what Vir said in the clip but it did not there; the comedian is facing legal actions as a complaint against him is filed at Mumbai Police station by a lawyer. Vir Das has responded to it expressing that his intentions were to show India as a great country despite struggling with so many issues.
