It was King Khan, Shah Rukh who was the ideal choice for Rancho. He rejected the offer due to some reasons but thankfully he did because Mr.Perfect Amir as Rancho is irreplaceable. However, there was another actor who was better than Shah Rukh Khan in another hit movie according to the director.

This legendary movie which is still getting a place in theaters and ruling the hearts of every lover is incomplete without Raj. Shah Rukh nailed his role in DDLJ only because of Saif Ali Khan. Yes, Saif got the role at first.

Though he was quite handsome in his 20s (even now he is) but nobody could have pulled it off better than King of Romance.

Farhan truly fits into the role of Milkha, his masculine body, and the way he says the dialogues truly attract the audience. Guess who was the first choice?

Director approached Akshay but he was already shooting for two more movies that did not do well at the box office. Akshay must be regretting turning down the role.
