WPL 2026: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the full schedule for the Women’s Premier League 2026. The tournament will be played from January 9 to February 5, 2026. The fourth season of the tournament will be held in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara. The WPL 2026 mega auction recently concluded.

The season will begin with an exciting opener in Navi Mumbai, where defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The Navi Mumbai league, running from January 9 to 17, will feature 11 matches.

Who will play the first match in WPL 2026?

The Women’s Premier League 2026 is scheduled to begin on January 9. The first match of the tournament will be between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. This match will take place in Navi Mumbai. Both teams have won the Women’s Premier League title and are among the most successful teams. It will be special to see them face each other.

The final will be played in Vadodara

Following this, the second phase of the league will be played there. The remaining 11 matches, including the playoffs and final, will be played there. Gujarat Giants (GG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face each other, followed by a rematch between the 2025 finalists, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians. League matches will run until February 1st, after which there will be a scheduled break day.

Battle for the Top

The eliminator between the second and third teams in the points table will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd. The winner will advance to the final. The team that tops the points table will directly play the final, which will be played in Vadodara on Thursday, February 5th, 2026.

The eliminator will be played between the second and third-placed teams on February 3rd, and the top-ranked team will advance directly to the final in Vadodara on February 5th.

A total of 67 players were purchased by teams in the mega auction held in New Delhi last Thursday. Deepti Sharma was the most expensive player in the mega auction, bought by UP Warriors for ₹3.2 crore. Deepti became the second-most expensive Indian player in the league’s history. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of five players who have become millionaires.
