World’s Most Expensive Car Number Plate Worth Rs 122 Crore

You must have noticed many people shed crores of rupees to have expensive and luxurious cars having top accessories and models in them. A person can shed endless money to have a car but can you think of giving crores to buy a number plate?

In reality, there are a lot of people over the world who are more interested to pay crores for the number plate instead of purchasing expensive cars. On April 8th, the world’s most expensive number plate was sold at a handsome amount of Rs 122 crore.

After this happened, the buyer also broke the Guinness World Record

As per the reports, the VIP number plate ‘P7’ was sold at 55 million dirhams, which stood for about Rs122.6 crores. The number plate got sold at the ‘Most Noble Numbers’ charity auction which took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jumeirah in Dubai. 

The event was organized by Emirates Auction and the process will reportedly go to backing the ‘1 billion meals endowment’ campaign.

15 million AED was the first amount at the bidding for the ‘P7’ in the auction. It didn’t take seconds to reach 30 million AED. After the bidding reached 35 million AED, the bidding stopped for some time. The 35 million AED bid was by French Emirati businessman Pavel Valerievich Durov, who is the owner of the Telegram application. 

As a consequence of this event, the bidding closed at 55 million dirhams. Although, the winner of the auction is still not known. Various other VIP number plates as well as phone numbers also got auctioned at that same event.

Almost 100 million dirhams, which is about 27 million dollars were taken from the auction, which will be given to feed people at the time of Ramadan. The auction of car plates as well as exclusive mobile numbers generated a total of 97.92 million dirhams

‘One Billion Meals’ campaign

A lot of the bidders wished to beat the record which was made in 2008 when a businessman bid for Abu Dhabi’s No. 1 plate for AED 52.22 million. Every single penny from this auction will be given to the ‘One Billion Meals’ campaign which was set up with the strong target of fighting world hunger.

Keeping the target and spirit of Ramadan in mind, the donation was done by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
