Chris Rock was on the stage for presenting the name of winner in the best documentary category. Soon before it, he cracked a joke on Jada’s hair that offended Will. Jada is suffering from alopecia due to which she lost her hair.
Upon this, Rock compared her to Demi Moore’s character in the movie G.I.Jane. He said, Jada appeared in the sequel of movie. For a while, there was an awkward silence in the theatre. Will went to the stage and slapped Rock and said “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****g mouth.”

Later, he was awarded with Best Actor Award for his role of Richard Williams in the movie ‘The King Richard.’ While giving a speech after winning the award, Will made an apology to Oscar and Chris Rock.
