WhatsApp, a popular cross-platform instant messaging app owned by Meta, is working on a new feature for iOS that will give more options in drawing tools.
In the most recent iOS beta release, which is available on TestFlight, the service was recently seen developing a text editor feature for the drawing tool. More fonts and tools will be added to the text editor in the upcoming days, improving the drawing editor’s functionality. Users will be able to change the text’s font with just a tap.

WhatsApp is developing a new text editor feature that will give the drawing tool access to new typefaces and text formatting. By only tapping the available options on the keyboard, choosing the font has become easy. Moreover, users will be able to format text inside of pictures, videos, and GIFs as well as modify text alignment. Users will also have the option of changing the background colour of the text.
In a future update of WhatsApp for iOS, new fonts including Calistoga, Courier Prime, Damion, Exo 2, and Morning Breeze will be available. The feature was spotted in development on WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.5.0.72 update via the TestFlight program. However, beta testers will not be able to try out the text tool, as it is still in development.
There is no word from WhatsApp on when they will be rolled out to all users.
