Laxman Utekar has confirmed that Vicky Kaushal will be playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in his upcoming film.
Utekar, who has previously worked with Vicky Kaushal on a romantic comedy yet to be released, believes the actor is well-suited for the part of the Maharaj.
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who was the founder of the Maratha empire.

“His personality, like his height and physique matches that of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Vicky Kaushal is also a fabulous performer. We didn’t do any look test, I was sure that he is the one who can play Sambhaji,” Utekar told PTI.
“He will train for four months in sword fighting, horse riding, and a few other things. And once we are satisfied, we will start shooting,” he said.
