Varun Dhawan lifted a visibly shocked Gigi Hadid in his arms on stage at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre on Saturday night.
The ritzy second day of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Social Center (NMACC) Occasion saw activity both external the setting and inside. On the outside pink carpet, major Bollywood and Hollywood stars showed off their outfits, but many performances on the stage inside stole the show. However, in the midst of all of this was a moment that many fans thought was a little unsavory.

On Saturday night, Varun Dhawan was one of the artists who took the stage. Although the actor’s performance was applauded, the fact that he called supermodel Gigi Hadid on stage and then suddenly lifted her up drew some skepticism. Varun calls Gigi onto the stage and grabs her by the arm in a viral event video.
When the supermodel, who was wearing a golden saree, got to the stage, Varun suddenly grabbed her and tossed her around.
Hadid looks noticeably shocked by this and the episode had many addressing in the event whether this was a prearranged second or not. Varun’s actions were criticized by a lot of fans after the video went viral and was shared on a number of social media platforms.

Fans React On Varun’s Act
“No one likes to get touched or kissed without their consent that’s basic manners… calling them on the stage to lift and kiss them when you know the other person has no choice but to just go with the flow…boundaries yaar,” one writer wrote.
“This needs to be scripted or else it’s f***ing weird,” said another. This man needs to stop kissing and lifting people like this. Many people wondered if the incident bothered Gigi. One comment stated, “She will never come to India after this.”
The Nita Ambani Cultural Event was inaugurated on Friday evening in a grand ceremony where Nita Ambani herself performed on stage and Hollywood stars like Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Gigi Hadid were in the audience.
