The English Premier League has emerged as the best statistical league in the world based on predefined criteria. The league’s impressive rankings include the fifth position in terms of goals per game, second in discipline, second in continental victories, and fourth in point differential.

Notably, the EPL outperformed La Liga and the Bundesliga in all categories except one. The domestic competition in England is marked by a high level of parity, with only 31 points separating the first and last-placed teams.

Despite this trend, 11 clubs at the bottom of the table are separated by six points, ensuring the league remains competitive till the end.

The EPL’s prowess is further bolstered by its performance in continental competitions, with six clubs from the league qualifying for the knockout rounds of the Champions League and Europa League.

Furthermore, the English clubs have achieved an impressive 3.71 wins-per-team average, higher than La Liga and the Bundesliga.

Although the margin between the second and third positions is narrow, the Bundesliga outperformed La Liga in certain statistical categories. The Bundesliga particularly excels in the goals per game metric, benefiting from their league’s substantial lack of low-scoring teams.

Almost all Bundesliga clubs (except three relegation zone teams) have scored over 20 goals this season.

On the European front, while the Germans have two fewer wins than the Spanish, they also have one less team competing in the two continental tournaments.

Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt recorded five victories in Europe, followed by Borussia Dortmund with four and Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke with three. Moreover, despite an early elimination from the Europa League, Freiburg scored an impressive win at the European level.

Lastly, the Germans hold a point differential advantage over the Spanish, despite having two fewer domestic teams in their league. Know more about World Football. King Pele Left the World at the Age of 82

For a significant period, Spain has been recognized as a league with only two or three strong contenders, which may have contributed to a minimal disparity between the top three positions.

On the league table, there is a difference of 39 points between Atletico Madrid and Real Betis, while the gap between the first and fourth place is only 14 points.

Notably, the three leading clubs in the league have no issue scoring goals, with an average of 2.5 to 2.7 goals per game. However, the scenario is quite different at the bottom of the table, resulting in a league average of 1.45 goals per game.

Despite this, their continental success differentiates the top three clubs – Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Madrid – and places them in a favorable position. These clubs have 14 continental titles, significantly enhancing their overall ranking.

Furthermore, Valencia and Sevilla also emerged victorious as group champions in the Europa League, which enhanced La Liga’s dominance in the knockout rounds of both competitions. This factor contributes heavily to earning the league its current third-place ranking. Learn more about the Best Fifa Men’s Player of the Year 2022 Award that Goes to the G.O.A.T of Football!! Initially, the Ukrainian Premier League’s ranking on the list may come as a surprise. However, a closer analysis reveals that they possess a robust and exciting domestic league, evidenced by statistical data.

Compared with the other 5 leagues on the list, the Ukrainian Premier League’s average of 1.26 goals per game is in the middle range. Nevertheless, what particularly stands out is the discipline exhibited by all 16 Eastern European clubs that compete in the league, with only 11 red cards issued this current season- the lowest across all the leagues evaluated.

Moreover, Ukrainian football is impressive regarding teams’ performances in Europe, with 12 continental-level wins this season. Though Shakhtar Donetsk did not perform outstandingly in the UEFA Champions League, Chornomorets Odesa, Dynamo Kyiv, and Dnipro all came second in their respective groups the UEFA Europa League.

Notably, all four clubs will advance to the Europa League knockout stage in February, providing them an excellent opportunity to succeed.

The Dutch top flight has topped two statistical categories in the football world: goals per game and point differential. However, it is noteworthy that the league’s matches possess an element of unpredictability due to their second-highest record of red cards per game from the ten leagues evaluated.

Unfortunately, the Dutch league has not achieved substantial success on the European stage, with only two teams, Ajax and AZ, progressing to the Europa League. This lack of European success has prevented the Dutch top flight from attaining a higher ranking, potentially even a spot in the top three.
