More than 100 athletes have made their way to the upcoming Tokyo Olympics 2021. But this year’s event is going to be extra special for few athletes as it’s their first time. Moreover, it is the first time for India as well in many games.

Meet The Athletes Raising India’s Hopes In Tokyo Olympics 2021
Sajan Prakash

A new record is now set up by Sajan in 200m freestyle soon after he qualified for the Olympics. In the men’s 200 m butterfly event of the Olympics, Sajan broke his previous national record of 1:56.96s and set the bar to 1:56.38s.

Fouad Mirza

The 27-year old met all the eligibility requirements of the event and became the first-ever to take India to Olympics in the horse-riding event. He also won two silvers in Asian Games 2018 in both teams and individual events.
He is the first from India to do so in Asian Games.

C. A. Bhavani Devi

The 27-year old has also made a record in Asian Championship by winning the first medal for India in 2014. Bhavana Devi secures the 42nd ranking in the world with a total score of 37.0 points in fencing.

All three along with the rest of the athletes from India who qualified for the postponed 2020 Summer Olympics will compete in Tokyo. The event will take place on 23rd July and continue till 8th August.
