The ultimate champions of cricket, the team who were no less than a nightmare to play against and the forever conquerers!
Australia.
Yes, the same Australia who shattered our dreams of winning the World Cup in 2003.
*Sorry Dada*
Anyway, Australia has announced its team of the decade and you’ll be baffled to know, that none other than our own Mr Cool has been named the captain of Cricket Australia’s Team of the decade!
*Meanwhile MSDians:*
The only captain to have won all ICC trophies, his leadership skills are lauded by everyone from those who captained him to those played under him!
Moving on, two other Indian players are also in the team. Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli.
Here is Cricket Australia’s Team of the Decade:
Rohit Sharma, Hashim Amla, Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Shakib al Hasan, Jos Buttler, MS Dhoni (C), Rashid Khan, Mitchell Stark, Trent Boult and Lasith Malinga.
Journalist Martin Smith has compiled the team. This is what he had to say:
“The input of MS Dhoni with the bat did tail off during the latter part of the decade, but he was a dominant force in a golden period for India’s one-day side. Having assured his greatness by guiding his nation to World Cup glory on home soil in 2011, the right-hander became India’s ultimate finisher with the bat.”
On the other side, Virat has been named the Captain of Cricket Australia’s Test squad of the decade which includes players like Alastair Cook, Steven Smith, David Warner, Ben Stokes and Kane Williamson.
Man, India is really hitting it off in Cricket!
