- The theft took place on a Sunday night, but it wasn't discovered until Tuesday morning. Typically, the shop remains closed on Mondays, which gave the thieves a head start.

- To make matters worse, the CCTV cameras inside the store were found turned off. Shockingly, despite housing jewels worth crores, there wasn't any security guard present for protection.

Located in Delhi's posh Jangpura locality lies a prominent jewelry showroom, known for its splendid array of treasures. But recently, it became the epicenter of one of Delhi's most audacious thefts.
The Incident:
The showroom was closed at around 8 pm on Sunday, as informed by Rajesh Dev. However, when the doors reopened on Tuesday morning, the shocking discovery of the break-in was made.
The showroom, a multi-story structure, had its ground floor dedicated to customers and housed a heavily fortified safe room made of concrete. Upon entering, the owner was stunned to see a gaping hole, approximately one and a half feet wide, in the wall of this secure room.

The ground floor, where the theft occurred, has a heavy metallic gate on one side and walls on the other three. This is where customers usually engage in transactions. The upper three floors are mainly for stock storage and jewelry repairs.

- Rajesh Dev, the DCP, revealed that the owner reported jewelry made from 30 kilograms of gold and cash amounting to 5 lakhs as stolen.
- The showroom, owned by Mahaveer Prasad Jain, has been operating for over 75 years and enjoys the trust of its clientele.
- Jain affirmed that the staff members, around 6 to 7, are trustworthy, with most having worked there for over two decades.

- Relatives of Mahaveer Prasad, Duler Jain, explained that the thief accessed the showroom via the roof.
- They broke the lock, descended down, and carried away the jewelry from the strong room. Furthermore, they also cut off the WiFi and disconnected all the six CCTV cameras in the showroom.
When Did the Theft Happen?
- While the showroom is located in a prominent area of Jangpura and owned by Umrao Singh and Mahaveer Prasad Jain, sources told news agencies that the theft likely occurred between 11:30 pm to midnight on Sunday.
