Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo: Skoda has finally launched the Monte Carlo edition of the Slavia, with prices starting at Rs 15.79 lakh and going up to Rs 18.49 lakh (both ex-showroom). The Czech brand is celebrating the 112th anniversary of its debut at the Rallye Monte Carlo. Born from Skoda’s motorsport heritage, the Monte Carlo edition of the Slavia features sportier enhancements over the standard model both on the outside and inside.

For starters, the Slavia Monte Carlo is available in two dual colour options: Tornado Red and Candy White, with a dark black roof. As mentioned earlier, the changes to the Monte Carlo edition are purely cosmetic. On the exterior, it features blacked-out highlights such as the front radiator grille, gloss black ORMV, 16-inch blacked-out alloy wheels, roof, rear bumper diffuser and garnish on the front bumper lip, fog lamps and door sills.

Jumping inside the cabin, it offers a black and red-themed interior, with a dark dashboard with red accents along with dual 2-tone seat upholstery. ‘Monte Carlo’ embroidery has also been added on the headrests and scuff plates. The trim features an attractive electric sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats, aluminium pedals and a robust 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This unit supports all wireless car connect technologies.

The functionality of the Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo remains unchanged, with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument console, auto climate control, paddle shifts for the AT variant and an electric sunroof. In terms of safety, it is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitor and traction control.

The Slavia Monte Carlo is available with two turbocharged petrol engine options- a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TSI. The 1.5-litre engine produces 114 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque while it is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre unit produces 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque while it is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox in the Monte Carlo trim.
