Skoda Kushaq Facelift Launch in India: Design Changes, ADAS, Engine

The facelift model of the Skoda Kushaq may be launched soon in India. This car has been seen multiple times during testing in India. The new Kushaq may feature several changes. Along with this, it may also come with premium features and a new automatic transmission. Let's tell you more about it.

Skoda is set to launch a facelift of its popular SUV, the Kushaq, possibly in India by January 2026. The car first introduced in 2021, the updated model may feature premium upgrades and a new automatic transmission.In India, this car will compete with vehicles like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

Skoda Kushaq: Major changes in design

It is expected from the model seen during testing that changes could be made in the next version of the new Kushaq. It may feature larger fog lamps, thin vertical slats in the front grille, and revised headlights.

The upper part of the front grille may have connected DRLs (daytime running lamps), inspired by Skoda’s other car, the Kodiaq. The lower air dam of the grille could also be square-shaped compared to the current model.

The side profile will remain almost the same as before, except for the 17-inch matte black alloy wheels. It may come with 17-inch matte black alloy wheels. However, there could be changes at the rear. There may be slim LED tail-lamp clusters at the back, connected by an LED bar in the middle, where 'SKODA' is written in the current model.

Skoda Kushaq Interior and Premium Features

Although complete details of the interior have not yet been revealed, it is expected that the new Kushaq may feature several premium and advanced features. It may come with a panoramic sunroof. Former Skoda India brand director Petr Janeba had confirmed that the new Kushaq will have Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). This safety feature is already available in rival SUVs like the Tata Sierra and Maruti Victoris. It may also come with a 360-degree camera. All variants will have 6 airbags as standard safety equipment. The facelift version has already received the highest 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP.

The new Kushaq facelift will come with the existing engine options, but there may be changes in the transmission. Only the current model will be available with engine options

  • 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine
  • 150 PS power

Although this change will not happen immediately, the new gearbox could arrive by mid-2026.

Currently, the starting price of the SkodaSlavia sedan is ₹10.94 lakh, while the Kushaq SUV starts at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices may increase after receiving a facelift update.

Skoda Kushaq competes

The Skoda Kushaq competes with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, and Volkswagen Taigun. Meanwhile, the Skoda Slavia competes with the Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and Maruti Ciaz.
