Shruti Haasan recently had to miss the pre-release event of the Chiranjeevi-starring movie Waltair Veerayya. There was a lot of talk about her mental wellbeing as a result of her absence from the event. On Thursday, Shruti responded to the speculation and reprimanded those who had been spreading false information about her health.

Shruti Haasan shared a screenshot of articles claiming she was ‘struggling with mental health issues’. On the image, the actor questioned, “So my flu turned into this?”. She also expressed her concern about how misinformation relating to mental health can make it more difficult for individuals suffering from it to speak out.
Shruti jotted down a message that stated, “This is the issue: The spread of inaccurate information, plus exaggerations or downplaying of mental health issues, is what stops people from discussing it. This doesn’t help. I’m an advocate for mental health and I’m always encouraging self-care. And by the way, I just had the flu. So, please, get over yourselves and consider talking to a therapist. Seriously, I mean it.”

At the pre-release event, Chiranjeevi spoke highly of Bobby’s movie, Waltair Veerayya, saying it is unapologetically commercial. He explained that the goal was to offer people an enjoyable, entertaining experience, and so they put together a “pakka commercial film” that would make viewers laugh, scream, and be inspired. Chiranjeevi described the movie as an emotional roller coaster ride, assuring that it would be an engaging film with no dull moments.
Also appearing in the film is Ravi Teja, and Waltair Veerayya is set to hit movie theaters on Friday, a day after Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy.
