Business

Three startups that were rejected in Shark Tank India is now doing great business.

Shark Tank India is an Indian version of Shark Tank America that came to India only recently. It has aired only two seasons, and the audiences loved both. The show’s format is that you bring an idea to sharks who are actually successful businesspeople; they will listen and ask you questions, and if they like you and your business, then they offer you a deal in exchange for your company’s equity.

Shark Tank India was created because India is a country of millennials, and there are many young business ideas there. But some business ideas get rejected but outshine successful businesses afterward.

Urban Monkey

Founded by Yash Gangwal in 2013, Mumbai based streetwear brand that appeared on the first season of Shark Tank India laid a proposal of one crore in exchange for 1% of the company’s equity. The brand was already doing well and required a rocket boost for their company. They tried every move to grab a deal but did not get any deal from the sharks. And now, after being aired on the show, the sales have gone many times than previous sales.
