Paying Tribute To Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel On His 71st Death Anniversary

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the man who taught the real meaning of Unity to India, died on 15^th December 1950 in Mumbai. He had alone united 562 princely states to create one nation-India. His role in the country’s independence was instrumental and unforgettable.

5. Sardar Patel played a bigger role in implementing Satyagraha in Gujarat. He helped villagers of the Kheda district to hide their valuables and refuse taxes. His influence was so much that Government bowed in front of him and cut tax rates.

7. Vallabhai Patel had a legal battle with Bose who was left with ¾ wealth of Vithalbhai( Patel’s elder brother). He fought a case against his will in the court who announced the decision in his favor. The money was donated to the Vithalbhai Memorial trust.

8. Sardar Patel received the title of ‘Iron Man of India’ for uniting every princely state to form one nation.

9. He is also known for creating a Steel Frame for a country that is All India Services which earned him another title- Father of All India Services.

12. Around 1 million people attended his cremation at Sonapur where he was cremated at the same place his beloved wife was reduced to ashes.
