Amidst coronavirus outbreak, a piece of strange news came from Rajpipla, Gujarat. An unknown person put an ad to sold “ The Statue Of Unity.”
The reason to sell the statue was even weirder. This person advertises for the selling on OLX to meet the expense of hospital and medical equipment.
What more surprising is the cost of the statue he was demanding. He asks for Rs 30,000 crore for the statue of unity. But as soon as the advertisement becomes the headline of a newspaper, the man got into trouble.
Now an FIR is registered against the person after an advertisement in a newspaper. And the police find the person. Also, a case of cheating and forgery against him is filed. Inspector PT Chaudhary has filed the case under IPC, Epidemic Diseases Act, and Information Technology.
Also, after the news came, the OLX website took off the advertisement. To this, the Statue of Unity’s chief administrator said, “ the person misleads and defames the government through such an ad despite being not authorized for it. “
He also added that such kind of advertisement is very hurtful, especially for those who idolize Sardar Patel. Moreover, such ads are shameful. It shows that some people have no emotions for the country’s monuments.
