Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma will be under tremendous pressure this year as ICC World Cup and ICC World Test Championship final are just ahead of IPL 2023. Alongside, Rohit Sharma is also serving as captain for the National team India so his responsibilities are at greater stake.
IPL 2023 Update: Rohit Sharma on a Break
MI captain Rohit Sharma will not be able to attend all the matches for IPL 2023. The major concern behind this is that Team India has to face two major tournaments right after the IPL ends. As a result, Cricket Board BCCI doesn't want any major player to suffer an injury during IPL 2023.
Rohit Sharma will be leading Team India as their captain and he must stay fit. IPL is one of the most tiring tournaments during which players have a greater chance of suffering injuries. Moreover, players have to consistently travel around the country during the event and which makes them mentally and physically exhausted and that is not good for their future.

Bumrah is a gem that India could not afford to lose. For better understanding, Bumrah was assigned under A+ grade by BCCI which is the top grade for the most valuable players. Players from this grade get a contract of Rs 7 crore (highest). Other players on this list include- Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Team India is currently in pretty bad shape and losing a player like Rohit Sharma at this point would only put the final nail in the coffin. This is why Rohit Sharma will take preventive measures and play fewer matches during IPL 2023.
