Rohit, 37, stated that he is dealing with a personal matter and might withdraw from the Perth Test if the situation persisted. However, the Indian captain has yet to provide the Indian board with any official confirmation.

Rohit is taking a break right now because India is playing Bangladesh in a T20I series against Najmul Hossain Shanto’s team. He led India to a 2-0 series victory over the Tigers earlier. India are looking to win their third Test series in a row on Australian soil after 2018-19 and 2020-21, and Rohit is expected to play a crucial role in the BGT.

Schedule Of India-Australia Series

On December 6, the Day-Night Test at the Adelaide Oval will take place after the Perth Test. The Gabba Test begins on December 14, and the Boxing Day Test will take place on December 26 at the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground. Beginning on January 3, SCG will host the fifth and final Test.

Rohit’s Performance Vs Australia

In his seven Tests in Australia, Rohit has scored 408 runs at an average of 31.38, including three fifties and a highest score of 63 not out.

After losing to New Zealand and Australia in 2021 and 2023, India is also looking to reach their third World Test Championship final. Due to victories in eight of the eleven Test matches, India currently holds the lead in the WTC table for the 2023-25 cycle.
