Rhea Chakraborty who was arrested by the NCB on September 8 has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court. The actress has to submit 1 Lakh Rupees and her passport under the bond for the bail. However, brother Showik still remains in jail as his bail plea gets rejected.
Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde says:
“We are delighted by the order of the honourable Bombay High Court for granting bail to Rhea Chakraborty. Truth and justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal.”
He further added:
“The arrest and custody of Rhea was totally unwarranted and beyond the reach of law. The hounding and witch hunt by three central agencies – the CBI, ED and NCB – of Rhea should come to and end. We remain committed to truth. Satya Meva Jayate.”
The siblings were arrested by Narcotics Beaureu Control as they were “active members of a drug syndicate”.
