Friday, five states ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made reservations for Agniveers when hiring for state government positions. After returning from service in the armed forces, Agniveers will be offered employment in the reservation. The announcements were made by the governments of Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha.

The announcement also comes on the same day that Prime Minister Narendra Modi defended the Agnipath program in the face of new calls to end the military recruitment plan, which reduces tenure and offers fewer benefits to service members. Modi said that the program's goal is to revitalize the armed forces and keep them always ready for war.

States That Have Announced For Agniveers

Uttarakhand

Pushkar Singh Dhami, chief minister of Uttarakhand, made the announcement on the 25th anniversary of the Kargil war victory that Agniveers will be granted reservation in state government jobs upon their return from the armed forces.

Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav said that his administration will give quantity to Agniveers in police and military enlistment. He additionally said that the step has been taken according to the desires of Top state leader Narendra Modi.

Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai additionally said the state government will give reservations to them in enrollments for police constables and woodland monitors, among different posts once they complete their administration in the military. According to PTI, he added that the state government will soon issue the necessary guidelines to grant Agniveers a fixed reservation.

Uttar Pradesh

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, made another announcement: Agniveers who have served their country will be given more weight when it comes to recruiting for the UP Police and the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) forces. He stated that having their train and discipline young soldiers would be beneficial to the nation.

Odisha
