Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi did really well in the T20 series against Australia. India won 4 out of 5 matches, which was fantastic, especially since many regular players were not there after the long ODI World Cup. Bishnoi, a young player, stood out by taking nine wickets in the series. He was so good that he got the Player of the Series trophy.

This not only makes him a strong contender for the T20 World Cup team but also got him special praise from the legendary Muttiah Muralitharan. So, because of his great performance, Bishnoi is in the spotlight and has a good chance to be part of the important T20 World Cup squad.

In the matches against Australia, Indian spinners did a great job, taking a total of 15 wickets at an average of 19.20. The standout performances came from Bishnoi and Axar Patel, especially in the 4th and 5th T20I. In these games, they bowled together and made it tough for the Australian team.

Their excellent bowling not only stopped the visitors but also shifted the game’s momentum in India’s favor. So, the spin duo of Bishnoi and Axar Patel played a crucial role in India’s success against Australia.

Bishnoi Impresses Spin Legend

In a chat with Jio Cinema before the final match in Bengaluru, Muttiah Muralitharan praised India’s spin bowlers, especially Ravi Bishnoi. Muralitharan highlighted India’s historical strength in spin bowling, mentioning players like Anil Kumble and Ravi Ashwin.

He specifically commended Ravi Bishnoi for being unique among leg spinners, noting his quick deliveries and skill in making the ball slide. Muralitharan also spoke positively about Axar Patel, emphasizing his accuracy despite not generating significant spin.

Ravi Bishnoi World Cup Journey

Ravi Bishnoi began his T20I journey last February after shining in the Indian Premier League. Despite missing out on the T20 World Cup in Australia to Yuzvendra Chahal, his excellent displays in the August Ireland series, Asian Games, and Australia matches—where he secured 18 wickets in 10 games—have once again position him as a hopeful contender for the upcoming World Cup in the West Indies and USA in June.
