After the end of the IPL 2020 season, a bid to buy an IPL new team is already gaining the limelight with new bidders in the list. Bollywood star couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have surprised fans with their inclusion in the race.
There is no surprise seeing this husband-wife duo taking interest in sports. Deepika already comes from a badminton background whereas Ranveer Singh is the brand ambassador of the NBA.
Rests in the list are however surprising as according to cricket buzz, foreign equity companies are also allowed for the very first time. Invitations to the Tender are already sent, see here who the new ones in the race are.
IPL New Team: Manchester United Among 20 Bidders This Year
Indian Premier League Governing Council has made a few changes this year to allow foreign bidders. They have set a few criteria for eligible buyers and could increase the bar for base price.

As per a TOI report, Football Giant Manchester United could be one of the foreign equity companies that have shown interest. Others are venture capitalists from the US and Singapore-based private firms.
17 to 18 Parties have submitted Tender for the new IPL team in next year 2022:-

•Torrent Pharma.
•Ronnie Screwvala.
•Aurobindo Pharma.

In the Indian bidders, the list is Business tycoon Birla and Adani are the new entrants. RPSG, Jindal Power & Steel, Kotak Group, and Ronnie Screwvala. Two Pharma companies- Aurobindo and Torrent Pharma will also take part.
The bidding event will take place in Dubai post-India vs Pak T20 World cup. It is a closed bid and includes an elimination round. BCCI has set the bar between 375-425 million USD to win the bid for each team.
