Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Shooting Begins, First Glimpse Of Ayodhya Set Goes Viral

After it has been reported that Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ has gone on floors, a picture of the set has gone viral. Excitement soared when reports surfaced that Ranbir Kapoor would portray Lord Ram in the epic drama.

On April 2, it was reported that Nitesh Tiwari performed a puja on sets following which he began shooting for the film with secondary actors. Ranbir Kapoor, who will be playing the role of Lord Ram in the movie, is likely to join the shoot in the coming days.

Even though Nitesh Tiwari has not officially announced Ramayana as of now, the film has been making headlines for a long time now. While Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the role of Ram in this movie, Sai Pallavi has been roped in for the role of Sita. Prior to Sai, Ranbir Kapoor’s  actress-wife, Alia Bhatt was in talks for the role of Sita but she backed out due to dates-related issues.

Preparation Of Sets Begins In Mumbai

Days after Nitesh Tiwari started shooting for his upcoming movie, Ramayana, the first set video has surfaced on social media. Recently, actress Akruti Singh took to her Instagram stories and shared a video from the film’s grand Ayodhya set which has been constructed in Mumbai. The video featured several glimpses of huge pillars and massive palace-like structures. In the caption of the video, Akruti wrote, “Ramayana day 1”. However, the video was deleted later.

KGF Star Yash To Play Role Of Ravana

KGF star Yash is also likely to play Ravana in the movie whereas Sunny Deol has reportedly been locked for the role of Hanuman. Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are also reportedly in talks for the roles of Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana respectively. Arun Govil, popularly known for playing the role of Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, will now be stepping into the shoes of King Dashrath.

Reportedly, makers are planning to release Ramayana on Diwali 2025. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now.
