Punjab Government is in turmoil with its leaders and their surprising resignations. A few days ago, former CM Amarinder Singh left the post, and now his rival Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from the post of Punjab Congress Chief on a shocking note.
The sudden decision of Sidhu came after Cabinet shuffle by new CM Charanjit Singh Channi.
What Made Navjot Singh Sidhu Resign Ahead of Elections?
Channi, who is already in the bad limelight due to his past cases, has appointed few leaders close to him on the crucial post. MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh and APS Deol are those new appointments but Navjot has expressed his resentment over it via resignation.
Navjot, who was at the post of President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, in his letter said “ I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab.” He has also posted his resignation letter on social media.

Amarinder Singh And AAP React On Sidhu’s Resignation
Captain Amarinder Singh has reacted upon his decision saying Sidhu was unfit for Punjab. On the other hand, denying that Navjot was upset from new entries Chief Minister of state Channi said “ It will be settled if he is upset…though he is not upset with me.”
Upon the ongoing crisis in the Congress Party, the opposition party AAP targeted Channi for his resignation by saying He (Navjot) could not bear that a leader from the Dalit community is sitting on the higher post.
However, Navjot Singh Sidhu mentioned in the letter that he is not leaving the party and will continue to serve the party and will contest for the CM post in Assembly elections next year.
