MG Motor India is all set to launch its latest electric vehicle, the Comet EV on April 26.
The Comet EV is a two-door compact vehicle aimed at buyers looking for an urban runabout with a small footprint. The starting price will be announced on the launch date, but prices for the full range will be announced in May. It will compete with the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV.
MG Comet EV: Dimensions and Battery
The Comet EV will have a wheelbase of 2010 millimeters, be 2,974 millimeters long, 1,505 millimeters wide, and 1,631 millimeters high, and be based on the Wuling Air EV, which is sold in Indonesia and is built on the GSEV platform of parent company SAIC. The vehicle is anticipated to have a capacity of approximately 20 kWh and a claimed range of over 200 kilometers on a single charge, although the specifics of the battery pack have not yet been made public.

The Comet EV will have a lot of modern features. It will have two 10.25-inch infotainment screens, connected car technology, a hill-start assist, keyless entry and go, drive modes, voice commands, and an electric parking brake. Another distinctive feature of this vehicle is the two-spoke steering wheel with controls based on the Apple iPod. The MG Comet EV will strictly be a four-seater, despite its initial diminutive dimensions.

MG recently demonstrated the Comet EV in its production configuration and demonstrated a number of distinctive exterior packages that will be offered with the vehicle. The MG Comet is anticipated to cost between 10 lakhs and 12 lakhs (ex-showroom). With more than 60% restriction, the Comet is supposed to be seriously estimated too. In 2025, the company will also introduce the Baojun Yep SUV, which is built on the same platform.
