TVS’s CNG scooter project is codenamed U740. According to media reports, TVS is working on fuel technology different from petrol. It has already prepared the CNG engine. Now the plan is to connect only this engine with Jupiter 125cc CNG. This can be a 125cc CNG scooter, which will be introduced in the market.
Jupiter 125cc CNG may be launched in the year 2025
TVS Motor Company has been working on many alternative fuel technologies for the last several years and has already developed the CNG option. Now the company is planning to add that powertrain option to its Jupiter scooter. It is being said that the plan to make Jupiter 125cc CNG scooter has been codenamed U740. Work on which has also been started. If everything goes well, the company can launch it next year in 2025.
The price will be equal to the petrol model
The country and the world’s first CNG motorcycle i.e. Bajaj Freedom 125 has a 2KG CNG cylinder and a 2-liter petrol tank. The company claims that it gives a mileage of 100 kilometers per kilogram for CNG and 65 kilometers per liter for petrol. Therefore, the bike can run for about 330 kilometers in one tank of both.
Its ex-showroom prices range from Rs 95,000 to Rs 1.10 lakh, which is equal to other 125cc commuters. The ex-showroom price of Jupiter 125 is currently between Rs 79,299 and Rs 90,480. It is expected that TVS Jupiter 125cc CNG should be launched in the Indian market around this price.
Target to sell 1000 units as soon as it arrives
According to the information, the company has set a modest target of selling about 1,000 units of its CNG scooter every month. Along with this, this year they plan to launch another electric vehicle, an ICE vehicle, and an E3W vehicle. We are working in this direction. Let us tell you that TVS Motor is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, with a market share of 18 percent and sales of 3.15 million units. At the same time, it is also the second-largest scooter manufacturer in India. With this, it sells about 1 million motorcycles and half a million motorcycles annually.

Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG: Mileage and Price
Talking Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG, it has a 2 kg CNG tank and a 2-liter kg petrol tank. This bike gives a mileage of 102 km/kg on CNG and 65 km/liter on petrol. Once the tank is full, this bike can cover a distance of 330 km.
The ex-showroom price of Freedom 125 ranges from Rs 95,000 to Rs 1.10 lakh. Both Freedom CNG and Jupiter 125cc CNG will have a 125 cc engine. Now it remains to be seen how much mileage the Jupiter CNG scooter will give when it is launched.
