During an interview on the red carpet of the Golden Globes, where Avatar The Way of Water was nominated for Best Motion Picture (Drama) and Best Director (which it lost to Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans), James Cameron discussed the audience’s enthusiasm to watch movies in theatres rather than streaming. He was reminded in the same interview that the sequel to his 2009 original has become the seventh highest-grossing film of all time and is still going strong. Cameron has now directed three of the top 10 biggest movies ever, including Avatar and Titanic.
