Friend of Iranian Footballer Killed After Iran Lost FIFA Match

Very shocking news has been reported from Iran where a 27-year-old football fan was killed after Iran vs America FIFA match. According to human rights activists, the man was honking a car horn when he was shot dead.

The reason he was targeted is full of shock and against human rights too.

The man is identified as Mehran Samak and his age was 27. Yesterday, the security forces of Iran shot Samak in the head after Iran vs America FIFA match.

The reason behind this kind of inhumane behavior was said to be the celebration of Iran’s defeat against America.  Here’s a video of Samak celebrating post FIFA match.

The team lost the match by 0-1 in the Group B game yesterday. With the loss, Iran also lost the chance to continue in FIFA.

Samak Was the Friend of an Iranian International Player

Samak’s death has once again fueled the anger of Iran’s people. His death news has hurt Iranian midfielder Saeid Ezatolahi as well.

The international footballer has expressed his anger on social media where he revealed Samak was his childhood friend and teammate.

Ezatolahi said, “After last night’s bitter loss, the news of your passing set fire to my heart.”

However, the footballer did not say anything about the reason behind Samak’s death. Though he commented ‘ Some day the masks will fall, the truth will be laid bare.”

He also targeted his country saying youth do not deserve this. Amidst the outrage on killing Samak an Iranian journalist has posted a video on Twitter.

In the post, she wrote ” Iran is a country where people are very passionate about football. Now they are out in the streets in the city of Sanandaj and celebrating the loss of their football team against the US.”

Another user wrote it’s humiliating for Iran’s regime.

 

This is not the first time such disheartening news is coming from Iran. In September, a 22-year-old girl Mahsa Amini was killed following which a massive protest had begun in the country.

So far, 448 people have lost their lives in the protest against the Iranian government. The death statistics also include women and children aged between 18 and 29.
