#IPLAuction2021 List Locked At 292 With Only 164 Indians

8 teams, more than 1000 registrations, and only limited slots, this was the scene when the registration process for the 14th Indian Premier League began. The list is locked with 292 cricketers who will now undergo the auction process on 18th February in Chennai. Who’s in and out from the upcoming IPL 2021 auction? Read below for the full info.

Only 2 Indians Set The Price Of Rs 2 Crore

Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, and other 5 franchises have locked the list of mixed players from 1114 cricketers. The list has different price cap where the lowest begins from 50 lacs and the highest is 2 crore.

Total 164 Indian cricketers have made to the list, 3 are from Associate Nations and around 125 players are from overseas. No Indian player except all-rounder Kedar Jadhav and bowler Harbhajan Singh have registered at the highest base price of Rs 2 crore. 

Rest players are from overseas, here are the other 8 names:

  4. Mark Wood
  5. Jason Roy
  6. Glenn Maxwell
  7. Shakib Al Hasan
  8. Moeen Ali

There is no Indian player at the base price of 1.50 crore.

Players At The Base Price Of Rs 1 Crore

IPL 2021 Auction

Again only 2 names from India are in the list of Rs 1 crore base price, these are Batsman Hanuma Vihari and Bowler Umesh Yadav. The list is occupied by 5 Australian players, 2 West Indies, and 1 bowler from Bangladesh. 

Cheteshwar Pujara is also on the shortlist of the IPL 2021 auction. And for the first time, Arjun Tendulkar has registered for the auction however the base price he set is only Rs 20 Lakh. After all, it will be his first IPL. 

Indian pacer Sreesanth who was making a comeback after 7 years of ban due to match-fixing was also on the list initially. But he is out from the final shortlist. Little disappointed from the announcement but Sreesanth said, ” I am not giving up and will try in another season.”

IPL Teams With Biggest Purse

Among all teams, only 4 teams are coming with the highest purse to sign the biggest players. These are Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, King XI Punjab, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. 

RCB has 13 slots, 9 slots for KXIP, 7 for CSK, and only 3 for David Warner’s SRH. KL Rahul’s KXIP is leading with the highest funds of Rs 53.20 crore in the purse whereas SRH and Kolkata Knight Readers have minimum funds available. 

The auction will be held on 18th February.
