Meta, the parent company of Instagram, shared in a blog post that teens told them they sometimes desired to have a break and look for methods to concentrate while studying, during school, and at night.

Created Quiet Mode to Help People

Consequently, they created Quiet Mode to help people use the app less and will remind teenage users to turn it on during the night with prompts on the app.

Meta has created this feature in order to help people stay focused and to help them determine how much interaction they would like to have with their followers and friends.

When Quiet Mode is activated, all notifications will be silenced and your profile’s activity status will indicate that you are in this mode. Also, when someone sends you a DM, Instagram will send an automated response.

Instagram’s latest blog post has introduced new methods to control the suggestions users receive, as well as improved its Parental Supervision Tools.

Parents in Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and the US can now take advantage of the new feature that allows them to view their teen’s Instagram settings, including privacy and account settings.

If their teen makes any changes, parents will be notified so that they can discuss the alteration with their child. Additionally, parents can also check which accounts their teen has blocked.

Nick Clegg, the Meta President of Global Affairs, tweeted that they will now be offering a ‘Quiet Mode’ for teenage users in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with more countries soon.

This feature was created as a response to teens expressing the need for more ways to focus while they study, during school and at night.

Instagram has previously developed features to help users manage their time on the app, such as sending alerts to track and control their daily time spent.
