India’s increase in cyberattacks is part of a bigger trend in the Asia Pacific region, which saw the biggest increase in weekly attacks year over year. According to the data, the region experienced 1,835 attacks on average every week, a 16% rise.

According to the research, ransomware attacks affected one out of every 31 enterprises weekly.

The research noted numerous sophisticated operations where malicious actors discovered methods to weaponize legal tools as the number of attacks grew. For instance, some less experienced cyber attackers created attack-ready scripts using ChatGPT.

The 3CXDesktop app was “trojanised” by some for supply chain assaults. A well-known business communication tool is 3CX. According to CPR, its researchers also came across the fastest-encrypting ransomware ever seen.

How To Lessen The Vulnerability?

Companies should employ the company’s cyber-safety advice to lessen their vulnerability to intrusions. This entails updating servers and PCs and installing security fixes, especially those marked as essential.

Update all software to the most recent version, just as it’s crucial to get the most recent security updates. Attackers occasionally use apps and software to get access to their devices.

It makes sense to routinely update the software because many of the commonly used software developers will be actively looking for these vulnerabilities and patching them out.
