India chose to field at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior against Bangladesh after winning the toss. Ban gave India a target of 128 runs to chase.
Bangladesh's first-innings batsmen struggled, losing five wickets in just 10 overs and being 64/5. However, they were all combined for 127 runs in 19.5 overs.
Good Performances By Varun and Mayank Yadav
Varun Chakravarthy, who returned to the Indian team after a three-year absence, and Arshdeep Singh each took three wickets, while Washington Sundar and Mayank Yadav each claimed one wicket.
Mayank Yadav, on the other hand, made his T20I debut for India by bowling the sixth over. He is the third Indian bowler to bowl his first Twenty20 International over.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman each took one wicket for Ban.
Arshdeep Singh, an Indian pacer, was named "Player of the Match" for his three wickets.
The second T20I match between India and Bangladesh will be played at Arun Jaitley International Stadium in Delhi on 9 October from 7 PM onwards.
