According to reports, Rohit is nursing a hamstring problem he sustained during the high-stakes encounter against Pakistan, while Gill is battling an illness. With the semi-finals already secured, India might take a cautious approach, potentially reshuffling their playing XI to ensure their key batsmen are fit for the knockout rounds.
Will Gill and Rohit miss the IND Vs NZ match?
After the win in the Champions Trophy match against Pakistan, skipper Rohit Sharma was not seen during the training session. However, he was present on the field and was closely monitoring the batting of his teammates at the ICC Academy.
Seeing him standing on the field, it seemed that he had not yet recovered from his hamstring injury. In such a situation, due to the semi-final match being close, the team management would like to rest Rohit in the match against New Zealand.
Rohit closely watched the performance of the players with the coach in the nets session
Rohit Sharma was present in the nets session and he interacted with coach Gautam Gambhir and the rest of the coaching staff. Virat Kohli faced all kinds of balls in the nets. Virat not only faced bowlers like Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja but also practiced against net bowlers for more than half an hour.
Shubman Gill’s illness increased India’s concern
Not only Rohit, but Shubman Gill’s absence in training has also increased the tension of Team India. In-form opener Gill scored a brilliant century against Bangladesh in India’s opening match. Now before the match against New Zealand, there are reports that his health is not well. However, it is not known what has happened to him.
