First innings ended at 396 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal completed a double century. He played an inning of 209 runs, which is the best inning of his Test career. The entire England team returned to the pavilion on 253 runs. Bumrah took 6 wickets in the first innings.

Jasprit Bumrah took the maximum of six wickets for India. Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets. Akshar Patel got a success.
