Ice Storm Warning in Several States of USA: Possibility of Power Outage and Tree Damage

A recent warning for the ice storm is issued by the National Weather Services in the USA.

An impact of the storm Southern Plains and mid-South is expected to last until Wednesday.

It is expected that it brings potential power outages, tree damage and potential road damage.

National Weather Service issued a warning “ A glancing blow of arctic air mixed with the surge in moisture is setting the stage for an extensive and very dangerous ice event.

The west-central Texas, the Tennessee, Arkansas and Lower Ohio Valleys will cover half an inch through Wednesday and cause more power outages and travel issues.

The storm will be affecting Western Texas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas to Kentucky.

National weather service predicted that a quarter of ice would likely accumulate.

The ice storm will lead to tree damage and power outages across the hardest-hit regions.

Flight Delayed due to Ice Storm

The dangerous weather led to hundreds of flight delays and cancelations by Monday afternoon.

By 9 pm on Monday more than 5,100 flights within or out of the United States were delayed, with around 1,100 flights canceled according to Flight Aware data.

Most of the Flights were from Southwest Airlines and were out of Dallas-Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field airports.

Southwest Airlines said travelers with flights from and through some cities in Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Oklahoma could rebook flights without additional charges. This applied to flights from Jan.30 to Feb 1.
