Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy once more next year, from February 19 to March 9. The tournament was last held in 2017 and Pakistan is the reigning champions. To have only one major tournament for each format, the International Cricket Council (ICC) canceled all subsequent tournament editions after 2017. However at that point in 2021, they turned around their choice and reported the competition's return in 2025.

Here's What ICC Will Do With Indian Matches

During its most recent AGM in Colombo, the ICC reportedly approved a budget of approximately 65 million dollars to cover all bases if India declines to travel to Pakistan. As per Cricbuzz, the spending plan covers costs of facilitating matches in areas other than Pakistan.

PCB Signed Host Agreement With ICC

The report says that the approval notes from the Chief Executives Committee (CEC) say, "PCB has signed Host Agreement and has worked with management to draft an event budget that is submitted to F&CA for approval." If some matches need to be played outside of Pakistan, management has also approved an estimate of how much more it will cost to stage the event."

"An arranging meeting and examination of proposed match scenes occurred in Pakistan in Walk 2024. The note went on to say that "a significant amount of renovation work is underway in all three venues to upgrade facilities."

Indian Matches are Scheduled To Held In Lahore

The draft schedule has been made, and India's matches are scheduled to take place in Lahore, where they will also face hosts Pakistan, according to reports. They will be placed in Group A alongside Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand. The tentative schedule indicates that India will face Pakistan on March 1. In the interim, they will play Bangladesh on February 20 and New Zealand on February 23 respectively.
