The current-gen Hyundai Creta went on sale in India back in March 2020, with Hyundai revealing a facelift for Indonesia in end-November 2021. The facelift spotted in Indonesia, however, hasn’t launched in India yet because the Creta headed here will have styling cues that are not similar to the 2021 facelift. A fresh set of spy shots confirm that Hyundai is developing another iteration of the Creta facelift and this is the one that’s most likely headed to India.

New covert operative shots of this SUV found in Korea affirm many new subtleties in spite of the test donkey being vigorously covered. First, the facelift’s front styling gets a much wider grille with inserts that look like those on the new Verna sedan.

The headlamps are now divided into two sections, with the top section featuring LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) that look like those from the Venue, and the bottom section featuring rectangular units that appear to be divided into two sections for the high beam and low beam.

  • The H-style DRL pattern could also be present on the headlights of the Creta facelift, similar to the yet-to-be-revealed Hyundai Santa Fe SUV and the India-bound Hyundai Exter micro SUV.
  • The top part of the headlamps seems to have another LED unit that looks like the connected LED light bar seen on the latest-gen Verna.
  • It also is confirmed from these spy shots is that the SUV has a dedicated camera and ADAS suite on the grille, which confirms a 360-degree camera set-up as well as ADAS tech, a feature that’s soon becoming common in almost all midsize SUVs.

At the moment, the Hyundai Creta that is sold in India has a diesel engine of 1.5 liters and a petrol engine of 1.5 liters.

The 1.4-liter super petroleum has been ended thanks to rigid RDE standards that became effective recently. The 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine with 160 horsepower that made its debut on the Verna will also be on the Creta facelift. However, it is uncertain whether Hyundai will include this engine in the current Creta before the facelift or if it will be added to the facelift.

The Creta facelift is still some time away. However, Hyundai will introduce the Exter micro-SUV, a significant new product that will be available for purchase by August.
