During the recent assembly elections, the BJP pledged to implement this subsidy, a commitment that has now materialized with the arrival of the new year. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma assured that the Rs 450 LPG cylinder scheme would come into effect on January 1, 2024, and it has become a reality, marking a promising start to the year for the beneficiaries.

The significant reduction in the price of domestic LPG cylinders is a boon for women from economically disadvantaged families, specifically those below the poverty line (BPL). This initiative targets the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, ensuring that they can avail themselves of 12 cylinders per year at the affordable rate of Rs 450 per refill.

To facilitate the implementation of this scheme, the Rajasthan government has launched the ‘Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra,’ a special campaign to reach eligible beneficiaries. Through this yatra, camps will be set up across various locations to enroll beneficiaries and provide information on 39 public welfare schemes, including the concessional gas cylinder scheme.

To avail themselves of this benefit, eligible individuals need to visit the designated camps and complete the registration process. Once registered, beneficiaries will receive the subsidy amount directly in their accounts each time they refill their cylinders, ensuring a hassle-free and economical supply of cooking gas.

This initiative not only fulfills an electoral promise but also addresses the needs of vulnerable sections of society, particularly women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The reduction in LPG cylinder prices reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring affordable and accessible essentials for the citizens of Rajasthan.

Vikas Bharat Yatra

As the ‘Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ unfolds, it brings with it the promise of positive change and improved living standards for the people of Rajasthan. The Rs 450 LPG cylinder scheme is a shining example of a government delivering on its commitments and prioritizing the welfare of its citizens.

In summary, the reduced LPG cylinder prices in Rajasthan usher in a new era of affordability, making the start of 2024 a memorable one for those who stand to benefit from this welfare initiative.
