Google Meet is set to introduce support for 360-degree backgrounds to its Android and iOS apps in the near future. Reportedly, users will be able to choose from a beach, oasis, sky city, and a mountain temple, as their meeting backdrop. Additionally, new emoji reactions will be available to give users the opportunity to express themselves during meetings.

Google Meet is soon to be equipped with a new feature that will enable backgrounds to move in tandem with the user’s 360-degree motion. Reports indicate that the function will be powered by the gyroscope or orientation data from the user’s smartphone.
These video backgrounds will add an extra level of dynamism to the experience, with themes such as,
- A Beach,
- Oasis,
- Sky City, and
- Mountain Temple all expected to be available.

In the near future, both consumer and Workspace subscribers on Android and iOS will be able to experience Google Meet 360-degree backgrounds. A brief video clip of the feature is included in the report to give an idea of what it will look like.
Google has revealed that it is introducing emoji reactions to Google Meet, allowing people to express themselves during the meeting. The tech giant has provided users with a selection of nine emojis, including heart, thumbs-up, party popper, wave, joy, astonished, thinking, cry, and thumbs-down.
To use the emojis, participants can click on the ‘smile’ icon in the control bar and select the emoji they want to use, as well as their preferred skin tone.
This feature is available on Google Meet for Web, iOS devices, and Meet hardware devices.
