Inter-religion and inter-caste marriage is still unacceptable by the majority of people in many countries, especially India. Couples engaging in inter-caste marriages have been sufferers of honor-killings and kidnapping.
Aside from such horrific measures, many people go on to kill the couple, practice and shame them.
In order to protect such innocent couples from social exclusion and threats, the Government of Kerala has taken a great initiative. They have declared to build “homes” for those couples who are involved in an inter-religion marriage case. The Kerala Government takes this step in order to maintain the safety of the couples and offer them secure accommodation.

This great decision for inter-caste married couples comes after a Dalit Christian man was killed by his family members of his wife to be who belongs to the upper caste in August 2019.
This step has been taken by the Social Justice Department, and these homes will be inaugurated in all Indian districts.
The couples can safely live in these homes for around one year. Also, the person who earns less than 1 lakh would be provided 30,000 thousand by Government. On the slip side, if they belong to Schedules Caste, they will be provided around 75,000 thousand.

We also request family members to accept inter-caste marriage, do not kill your or other’s children for social stigma about inter-caste marriage. Think about the happiness of your child and set free them to marry a person of their choice irrespective of different caste/religion.
