Fire Broke Out in Indore-Ratlam Train at Ujjain Railway Station

On Sunday night, a massive fire broke out in the Indore-Ratlam passenger train hours after it reached Ujjain Railway Station.

The train reached the station at 7:40 pm on platform number 5. An hour later it was moved to platform number 8 for departure at 8 am the next morning.

The entire incident happened around 11:45 pm when the train caught fire all of the sudden. Within no time, the flames took a fierce form causing havoc at the station. Luckily, no casualty was reported as there were no passengers on the train.

It took almost an hour to control the fire but one complete bogie was burnt. A short clip of the Indore-Ratlam train on fire was uploaded on Twitter. Watch the clip here:

As you can see in the video, high flames are coming out of the train’s window. After some time when the fire slow down, a few men were checking the train to ensure there was nobody inside.

Since it was the last stop of the train, it was completely vacant. The flames badly damaged the train and the top portion of the train was chared.  Only one bogie is damaged, the rest of the bogies are in good condition.

But, what caused the fire is still not clear. As per sources, the assistant sub-inspector of GRP suspects the short-circuit behind the break out of the fire in the Indore-Ratlam passenger train.

As of now, the technical team of the railway is investigating the real cause behind the fire.
