Everything About 52nd International Film Festival Of India 2021

The biggest film festival -IFFI Goa is back to celebrate the film art, different cultures, ethos, and unforgettable contribution of legends. This will be the 52^nd edition of the annual event which is being celebrated since 1952. Around 12 famous personalities from both Indian cinema and those around the world will be honored during the International Film Festival of India 2021.

Who Will Be Awarded At International Film Festival of India 2021?

IFFI Goa to pay tribute to legendary actors for their great contribution in film industry. Late actor Dilip Kumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, and Surekha Sikri who died this year will be honored. From Hollywood, Late actor Sean Connery will receive the honor at the event. He was the first to play the role of James Bond.

IFFI will also confer awards to two filmmakers Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Sumitra Bhave for their unmatched contribution.

Indian Film Personality Of The Year

Union Minister Anurag Thakur will facilitate the Indian Film Personality award to Dream Girl i.e. Hema Malini. Prasoon Joshi who is the chairperson of the CBFC will also receive the honor.

Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award

Hungarian filmmaker Istvan Szabo, and Director Martin Scorsese are the two famous personalities who will get Satyajit Ray Lifetime Award at IFFI Goa. The award was renamed last year to commemorate the centenary of Satyajit Ray. His classic movies will be displayed throughout the festival.

What’s New At the International Film Festival Of India?

Around 148 films across the world will be screened during the event where 12 films will have their world premiere at the event.  Aimee Baruah’s Semkhor will be presented as the opening movie. It is the first Assamese movie to get the biggest platform.

IFFI Goa 2021: Date And Venue

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with the State Government of Goa, Directorate of Film Festivals, and Entertainment Society of Goa conduct IFFI Goa every year. It is four days event that will start from 20^th November in Goa and continue till 28^th November. It will honor creative minds from all over the world that will be selected by a jury committee. The event coincides with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Director and film producer Karan Johar and host Maniesh Paul will host the ceremony.
