During a press conference, she joked about feeling like she had been fooled.
Shahrukh and Atlee’s Trick
Shahrukh Khan, with a laugh, mentioned how Deepika Padukone might be thinking they both tricked her. He said, “Sitting here with the entire crew and team feels great, but Deepika might be feeling a bit awkward. Let me tell you why… She might be thinking she came to do a small role for a friend, but Atlee and I made her shoot for the entire movie without her realizing it.”
Deepika’s Reaction
Deepika Padukone responded, “Now, I feel I’ve been fooled. I was shooting for a project in Hyderabad when Shahrukh came to me, narrated the script, and mentioned a significant role for Aishwarya. For me, the length of a character doesn’t matter; its impact on the film does.”

Deepika Padukone continued, “On one hand, there’s my love for Shahrukh, and on the other, this film is so special that any actress would’ve agreed to be a part of it. It was about their vision. Shahrukh started the story, and within a minute, I said, ‘Why are you wasting your energy? I’m doing the film.’ When Shahrukh and I work together, it’s not formal; there’s a lot of love between us, and it shows in our work.”
