Coronavirus Update: 15 Districts In Uttar Pradesh Sealed Including All Hotspots

As many hotspots of coronavirus are emerging from Uttar Pradesh as well which is putting many lives in danger, the govt has decided to seal all hotspots in UP.

Following the orders, no one will be allowed to move in and out of their homes. All the essential things will be made available at your doorsteps.

The complete lockdown in these 15 districts will be imposed after 12 am tonight. Every measure has been taken to break the chain of coronavirus and spread community spread.

UP Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari said that the curfew will be reviewed providing all necessary things to the people.

These are the 15 districts that will be completely sealed from tonight till 15 April- Bareilly, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Bulandshahr, Maharajganj, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, Shamli, Agra, Firozabad, Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida), Meerut, Sitapur and Basti.

These districts have been selected based on their case history and have the potential to spread the infection to many others. Therefore as precautionary measure, these districts will be sealed.

Let Us Know What Does Sealed Off Means

  • People are restricted to move in or out from their house.
  • The govt will set up centralised call centres where you can call and place orders of your essentials.
  • Medicines and groceries will be delivered at your home.
  • Non-essential passes will be cancelled in these 5 districts
  • Vegetable or fruit markets where the crowd can gather will be sealed.
  • Entry for the media persons will also be prohibited. Only government photographers can enter the area.
  • Every house will be sealed and sanitised.
  • Apart from this using masks is mandatory

The state government has sealed these districts as they found 22 hotspots in Agra, 13 in Ghaziabad, 12 in each in Lucknow, Kanpur and Noida and seven in Meerut. Four hotspots have been identified in Maharajganj, Varanasi and Saharanpur. In Bulandshahr, Basti, Shamli and Ferozabad three hotspots have been identified at each place.

So far 326 cases have been reported from UP. A massive rise in the number came after the Tablighi Jamaat meet.
