Indian fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah has won the ICC Player of the Month award for his performance in December. Along with him, ICC also nominated South African bowler Dan Paterson and Australia captain Pat Cummins. In the women’s category, Australia’s Annabel Sutherland received this award. India’s Smriti Mandhana and South Africa’s N Malala were also in the race. Sutherland took 9 wickets in 5 matches and also scored 269 runs.
In December, Bumrah took 22 wickets in 3 matches
Jasprit Bumrah played 3 Tests against Australia in December. He took 22 wickets in these. He took 18 wickets in Melbourne and Brisbane. He could take only 4 wickets in Adelaide, because Australia won the match by batting in just 2 overs in the second innings. Due to his excellent performance, Bumrah reached the top in Test ratings.
Patterson took 13 wickets, Cummins took 17 wickets
South Africa’s Dan Paterson was also in the race for Player of the Month. He took 13 wickets in just 2 Tests against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Australia’s captain Pat Cummins took 17 wickets in 3 Tests against India.
Annabel Sutherland played 5 ODIs in December. She scored 122 runs with the help of a century in the three-match series against India. She also took 6 wickets in bowling. In two ODIs against New Zealand, she scored 147 runs and took 3 wickets. She became the Player of the Series in both the series.
