BMW M4 CS Launched in India at Rs 1.89 Crore - A New Benchmark

BMW has launched its new car BMW M4 CS in India. It has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.89 crore. It is positioned above the M4 Competition. It has been given many great changes to make it more nimble. This is the first CS model of BMW to be launched in India.

BMW M4 CS: Powertrain, Performance

The BMW M4 CS uses the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine as the standard M4. However, due to an increase in turbo boost pressure from 1.7 bar to 2.1 bar, the engine has been tuned to produce 550hp (20hp more than the M4 Competition). Peak torque remains unchanged at 650Nm, however, it is generated from 2,750rpm to 5,950rpm - 220rpm higher than the M4 Competition.

BMW says it has made some changes to the powertrain to withstand long track sessions, including an improved cooling system and increased oil supply to the clutch to ensure the four-wheel-drive system maintains its performance and powertrainresponsiveness, thanks to stiffer engine mounts.

The CS is also 20kg lighter thanks to various carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) components, including the titanium exhaust silencer and center console, gearbox pedals, and various interior trim pieces. It also gets lighter wheels, with 19-inch alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch alloy wheels at the rear. These changes allow the BMW M4 CS to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the M4 Competition. Its top speed is electronically limited to 302 kmph. It also gets BMW's Adaptive M suspension as standard.

BMW M4 CS: Exterior, Interior Design:

Compared to the M4 Competition, the M4 CS gets yellow daytime running lights. The kidney grille has a red outline, as well as bronze-coloured wheels. The head-up display gets M-specific graphics, while there is also a dedicated M Mode button on the center console. Additionally, there is an M-specific setup button on the centre console, which enables direct access to setting options for the engine, chassis, steering, braking system and all-wheel drive.

It gets the flat-bottom Alcantara M steering wheel, which is an optional extra on the M4 Competition, as well as the latest version of BMW's curved display, which includes a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which runs on the latest BMW Operating System 8.5. BMW has also equipped the M4 CS with M carbon bucket seats. Other highlights include red 'CS' letters on the center console, M seat belts, M4 CS door sills and more.

It includes 6 airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, BMW Condition Base Service (Intelligence Maintenance System), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), DSC Stability Control (DSC), Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Dynamic Brake. Systems like Control (DBC), Electronic Vehicle Image Mobile Laser, Electromechanical Storage with Auto Hold Ride, ISOFIX Electronics Mount Mounting, Floating Florida Lock, Side-Impact Motion, Motion Sensor and Dynamic Braking Light, Tire Dynamic Monitoring, Mobility Kit have been provided.

BMW's high-performance portfolio in India also intensifies the competition in the high-end sports car segment.
