In order to prevent stress and injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has advised all Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises to tread cautiously when using contracted players, especially Indian bowlers. In an effort to avoid any future losses due to injuries, the BCCI is especially concerned about bowlers competing for the ICC World Cup 2023 and the World Test Championship final.

Nitin Patel, a physiotherapist at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, and Soham Desai, a strength and conditioning coach for Team India, provided the advice during a Zoom meeting with the trainers and physiotherapists of each franchise, to avoid using Indian team bowlers excessively in the nets.

The BCCI is monitoring several bowlers, including Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, and Washington Sundar. The BCCI will get in touch with all franchises once more.
The NCA had previously shared the workload monitoring report of each India player with their respective franchises and asked them to use it as a guide for their reference.
